Garden Grove Travel Guide
Welcome to Garden Grove!
Incorporated in 1956, Garden Grove is a culturally diverse city found in the heart of California’s Orange County. Located approximately 1 mi (1.6 km) west of Disneyland, this city is home to several attractions and special events for travelers to discover.
Architectural enthusiasts will enjoy touring Robert H. Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral. This architectural wonder of the world was designed by Philip Johnson, and is composed of tens of thousands of panes of glass. Theater lovers will be pleased to find this city has two outstanding facilities. The Grove Theater Center houses both a theater and an amphitheater that presents a variety of plays, musical performances and performance art pieces throughout the year, while the Garden Grove Playhouse orchestrates five genre-spanning, original productions a season.
Throughout the year, guests of Garden Grove have the opportunity to attend a number of festivals promoting the city's cultural heritage. The city’s most popular spectacle, the Strawberry Festival occurs every May, and draws over 300,000 visitors a year. This event contains a range of activities such as carnival rides and games, agricultural exhibitions, and a parade.
